eMedia Music Corp. will release three new titles in the Guitar Lab line of guitar instruction DVDs in June 2013. The 50 Blues Rhythms You Must Know, 50 Jazz-Blues Licks You Must Know, and 50 Bass Grooves You Must Know DVDs will be in stores June 18, 2013.
The 50 Blues Rhythms You Must Know DVD is much more than just 50 grooves you can call up at your local blues jam. It’s 40 different rhythmic and chord voicing approaches for the 12-bar blues that host Corey Congilio demonstrates in the same key for continuity purposes. All of these 40 approaches can be transposed to all keys, and all can be combined to craft countless blues grooves that you can jam over, compose with, or use for accompaniment purposes in any blues setting.
David Hamburger’s 50 Jazz-Blues Licks You Must Know DVD cuts right to the chase, offering up some of the baddest, bopping-est, funkiest and bluesiest ways to navigate through any shuffle, boogaloo, minor blues or jazz-blues chord changes. Hamburger digs deep into the ‘50s and ‘60s, when labels like Blue Note, Prestige and Riverside were serving up the funky, down-home music of guitarists like Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, and Wes Montgomery, all of whom inspired some of the jazzed blues lickage in this collection.
Host David Santos has fired up the groove with some of the world’s most prominent superstars, including Crosby Stills & Nash, Billy Joel, Elton John, Phoebe Snow, The Neville Brothers, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, and many others. Now he’s assembled the 50 Bass Grooves You Must Know DVD. David cherry-picked 50 of the most versatile, most potent grooves, immortal bass lines one and all, to share with you in this collection. These 50 grooves personify the music of James Brown, Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, Muddy Waters, Big Joe Turner, Fats Domino, The Meters, BB King, Aretha Franklin, Sly and The Family Stone, Booker T and The MG’s, and many others.
50 Blues Rhythms You Must Know, 50 Jazz-Blues Licks You Must Know, and 50 Bass Grooves You Must Know will be released on DVD June 11, 2013, and will be available at retail stores nationwide and online at an estimated retail price of $24.95. The Guitar Lab DVD Series includes 21 titles on DVD for beginner to advanced guitar and bass instruction. All DVDs feature PIP (Picture in Picture) video, a manual, standard notation, tab, power tab files, practice rhythm tracks, and additional bonus material.
